A Few More: The Mommy-Made Collection

Continuing on in sharing a few more little baby knits that are done and waiting around to keep our baby boy warm and cozy, from the ‘made by mommy’ collection.  If this little guy takes after his mama at all, he will love to always have several soft and stylish knitted hats for the cold winter.  He is due to arrive sometime in October, so these little Pumpkin Hats were a Must-Have for his collection and will be so cute on him around Halloween and for the rest of Autumn.

I just love the little stem on top, the leaves, the wide rib, and these colors in Malabrigo Twist.  This yarn is so great for hats as it’s so soft and a great weight that knits up quickly.  I’m thinking this one turned out a perfect newborn size to bring him home in.  Ravelry page here.

I love the pumpkin hat so much I couldn’t make just one, so he has another that is slightly larger.  This set was knit up in Berroco Vintage, with a coordinating pair of my favorite little crocheted loafers.

The little crocheted button loafers are so tiny, definitely newborn size.  I expect they’ll fit him for about a week, maybe two, so hopefully I remember to take some photos of them on his little feet while I can.

Ravelry project page here and here.

The other baby booties made for him are the Oh Baby Baby Booties, also made in Berroco Vintage.  They’re cute, simple, practical, and will no doubt stay on his little feet and keep them warm.

I meant to share these on the blog a while ago, so now I’m almost caught up and can share the current work in progress! =)

Baby Cuteness

A friend of mine recently saw a picture of the baby loafers I made and right away asked if I could make a pair for her.  So excited about the baby cuteness, she asked for a hat to go along with it.  So I just finished up her ‘order’, which she will give to her friend who is a mama-to-be of a baby girl.  I really hope the little things fit her little head and feet.

I kind of just winged it with the hat, going off of an old pattern I have for a crocheted adult beanie for making the body of the hat, along with a lighter weight yarn and smaller hook size.  Then made up the ear flaps, added on the tan trim and a pom pom.  It turned out about 6.5″ wide at the base/ 13″ around so I think that’s about right!

So cute with the little loafers…

Well I think I’ve had my fill of crocheting for a while, and making baby things!  🙂

Hope Ashley, and her mom-to-be friend, will love them.

More Eye Candy

Some friends of mine recently saw a picture of the last pair of Little Button Loafers I made, and soon after I got requests from two friends asking if I could make a pair for them.  One requested a pair for her friend who’s expecting a baby girl, and the other wanted a pair of baby boy loafers for her sister.  This blue color, Berroco Vintage ‘Chambray’ is so nice for a baby boy.

Aren’t they so cute together?  I added the tan trim around the button flap on both of these and I think it really finishes them off well.

Hooked on Little Baby Loafers

Earlier this winter I held a baby shower for my friend Ashley and made a pair of these little baby button loafers for her baby boy who arrived in February…

Little Button Loafers for Ashley's baby boy

I love them, so little.  This crochet pattern is from Hook Candy and these little red ones are the size 1.  So then I made another pair, which I had in mind for a friend who had a baby girl…

baby girl button loafers

But they’re a little too small already for the babe before I even send them off, should have made the next size up.  So I just posted a picture of them on facebook and right away got requests from two friends of mine, asking if I could make a pair for them.  They both want to give them as a baby shower gift.  So another little pair of these pink loafers have been made up, just like the first pink ones but I added the tan edging around the button flap too, even cuter don’t you think?

more little button loafers

So now I’m starting on the second order, which is for a baby boy and I’m making them with a beautiful blue color that I am loving right now.  I’ve got quite the collection of this Berroco Vintage yarn building up, as I’ve bought five skeins of different colors for making these little gems of baby cuteness 🙂  So after I get unhooked from this hook candy, I’ll have to make myself something with all of this great yarn. 🙂

Are these not the cutest little baby booties you’ve ever seen??
